Behind the Sound omgitsfendi

Raw, Real, and Rising: Inside the World of omgitsfendi

For omgitsfendi, music has never been just a hobby—it’s been an ever-evolving form of survival, expression, and self-definition. A rapper, producer, director, and editor, fendi is a true multi-hyphenate carving out a lane for genre-bending, emotionally raw, and sonically adventurous hip-hop. His latest single, “no eyes,” released May 23rd, captures a rare moment of calm—a celebratory anthem rooted in joy, love, and financial freedom. It’s a snapshot of things finally going right.

“No eyes is basically just me bragging,” he admits, “about how much of a diva my girlfriend is and how much money I’m withdrawing from my bank account. It’s a feel-good song—things are going pretty smooth.”

This ease didn’t come overnight. From writing fun raps in middle school to dropping his first official track right before the pandemic, fendi’s growth as an artist has been both organic and intentional. The pandemic forced him inward, spending weekend after weekend in the studio, building out the sound that would become his signature. It was the success of an early 2020 EP that shifted his mindset: if something created just for fun could gain traction, what could happen if he took it seriously?

Since then, omgitsfendi has committed to developing a sound that fuses modern trap with classic hip-hop influences and the gritty introspection of lo-fi. With sonic nods to Nas, Stevie Wonder, and Playboi Carti alike, he pulls from a wide spectrum of influence—Michael Jackson one day, Earl Sweatshirt the next. Rather than boxing himself in, he sees himself as a curator of emotion, sculpting sound from instinct. Most of his songs aren’t written at all; they’re freestyled in the dark, dreads over his eyes, allowing the studio to become a canvas for whatever feeling is in the room.

The upcoming project, VTAWRLD, is a continuation of his acclaimed VITABOY—a more mature evolution that dives deeper into the emotional chaos of his mid-20s. “I’m either very ignorant, very in love, or very depressed,” he says, not flippantly, but with the self-awareness of someone who’s seen all three extremes. The themes are unfiltered. The delivery is raw. And yet, the music always returns to one core idea: it’s okay to feel.

What sets fendi apart isn’t just his versatility—it’s his ability to blend that range without losing the thread. Whether he’s channeling heartbreak, rage, confidence, or existential reflection, he never strays from what makes his sound recognizable. He blends genres, warps frequencies, and refuses to run from emotions. If anything, he wants his music to feel like a hug—especially for those who don’t know how to ask for one.

His visuals are still taking shape, but the identity is already there: raw, cyberpunk-leaning, yet emotionally grounded. And with support from collaborators like The Upstate Sound and marketing partner WTTU, omgitsfendi is building not just a fanbase, but a world. He’s currently preparing his first tour, working through version 79 of the album, and aiming not for perfection, but connection.

Through all the noise, he stays grounded by a simple, powerful idea: “To be myself is all I ever wanted to be. To change the world is all I ever wanted to do.” And with music that embraces imperfection and celebrates realness, omgitsfendi is doing just that—one track at a time.
